Giants Having Stellar Season

Best Start Since 2014 for Big Blue

Travis Jackson, Sports Writer

The New York Football Giants currently have a 6-1 record. This season, the team won against the Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens, and Jacksonville Jaguars, and had one loss against the Dallas Cowboys.

This is the first time the Giants have had an above .500 record through the first six weeks of the season since 2014. This season’s success could be due to the hiring of new head coach, Brian Daboll, who was with the Buffalo Bills as their offensive coordinator prior to this off season. Daboll led the Bills to three playoff appearances after joining them for the 2018 season.

The Giants also had two top ten picks in the 2022 NFL draft. With the fifth pick they selected the outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux, who played college football at Oregon, and was named the Pac-12 Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2019, won the Morris Trophy in 2020, and was voted a unanimous All-American in 2021. With the seventh pick, the Giants selected offensive tackle Evan Neal out of Alabama, where he was a College Football Playoff national champion in 2020, Consensus All-American in 2021, and First Team All-SEC in 2021.

Hopefully the Giants will continue on their hot streak in their next game against the 4-3 Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, October 30 at 4:25 PM.
