The NHL All-Star Game Is To a City Near You

SUNRISE, FLORIDA – The NHL All-Star Game is coming to a T.V. channel near you.

Are you a hockey fan or just want to see some fun occur on the ice? Well the NHL All-Star game is just for you!

This is the event where you can see all of your favorite players playing the sport you might like or love. This event goes from February third to the fourth. One of the first recorded NHL All-Star games was in 1934 at Maple Leaf Garden. How they ran it was the game was played between the Maple Leafs and a team of all-stars, which included two players from the other eight teams in the league. This game wasn’t an official game according the the NHL. The first ever All-Star game created by the NHL was in 1947.

On February third, the first part of the All-Star game will occur. This is what is known as the NHL All-Star Skill Competition. Five players will be chosen to compete in these challenges; however, there hasn’t been an announcement of who is participating in each event, and what skills are going to occur.

The NHL already released the rosters per each division. Each team consists of seven skaters and one goalie. 

The Metropolitan Division roster includes: forward Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins, forward Johnny Gaudreau of the Columbus Blue Jackets, forward Kevin Hayes of the Philadelphia Flyers, forward Jack Hughes of the New Jersey Devils, forward Brock Nelson of the New York Islanders, forward Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals, forward Andrei Svechnikov of the Carolina Hurricanes, and goalie Igor Shesterkin of the New York Rangers.

The Atlantic Division roster includes forward Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightnings, forward Dylan Larkin of the Detroit Red Wings, forward Mitch Marner of the Toronto Maple Leafs, forward Nick Suzuki of the Montreal Canadiens, forward Tage Thompson of the Buffalo Sabres, forward Brady Tkachuk of the Ottawa Senators, forward Matthew Tkachuk of the Florida Panthers, and goalie Linus Ullmark of the Boston Bruins.

The roster for the Central Division includes forward Kirill Kaprizov of the Minnesota Wild, forward Clayton Keller of the Arizona Coyotes, forward Jason Robertson of the Dallas Stars, forward Vladimir Tarasenko of the St. Louis Blues, defenseman Seth Jones of the Chicago Blackhawks, defenseman Cale Makar of the Colorado Avalanche, defensemen Josh Morrissey of the Winnipeg Jets, and goalie Juuse Saros of the Nashville Predators. 

Last but not least, the roster of the Pacific Division which include forward Matty Beniers of the Seattle Krakens, forward Kevin Fiala of the LA Kings, forward Nazem Kadri of the Calgary Flames, forward Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers, forward Elias Pettersson of the Vancouver Canucks, forward Troy Terry of the Anaheim Ducks, defenseman Erik Karlsson of the San Jose Sharks, and goalie Logan Thompson. 

Don’t see your favorite player? No need to worry. Each division has three more spots that need to be filled and that is up to all the fans. You are able to vote for your favorite players that might have not made the roster initially up until January 17 at midnight. Using the website, you have to create an account (which is free), and go through and pick who you want to go to Sunrise, Florida.

Don’t like using a website but have a Twitter account? No worries! You can also vote through Twitter. The voting begins January 12 at 12:01 a.m. ET and ends January 14 at 11:59 p.m. ET. All you have to do is Tweet using the complete hashtag “#NHLAllStarVote” which has to have the player’s full name or twitter handle included or else the vote will not count. The three remaining players per team will be announced January 19. When voting online you only can vote for two players and a goalie per division, and only have up to ten ballots a day.
