On January 17, 2023, after 12 seasons of being the head coach of the girls basketball team here at Manchester Township High School, Coach Beauchemin racked up his 200th career win with the team’s victory over Brick Township, 41-30. We Interviewed Coach Beauchemin to talk about his coaching career.

Q: What year did you start coaching basketball here at MTHS?

A: My first season as the varsity girls basketball coach was the 2011-12 school year.  This is my 12th season as head coach.

Q: How many total years of coaching experience do you have?

A: I have 18 total years of coaching experience.

Q: What is your favorite memory from coaching here at MTHS?

A: My memories move with me through the seasons that I coach.  As far as basketball goes, our first sectional championship was pretty special.  We played at Middle Township High School in 2017, and the game went down to the wire. Dejah Adams (Class of 20117) hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer for us to win the game 34-33.

Q: What is your favorite sports team?

A: Sticking with the basketball theme for this, my favorite team is the Brooklyn Nets.

Q: Is there anything else you would like readers to know?

A: Off the top of my head I can’t think of anything.  I feel I’ve been blessed to be surrounded by so many great people during my time here.  I could not get to 200 wins without the hard work of many.  All of my accomplishments across basketball and baseball would not be possible without the student athletes from this community.  I’m looking forward to many more years to come.

Congratulations, Coach Beauchemin, on your success!
