Makenzie James, Staff Writer

With so many concerts happening this summer, here are three worth checking out.

The Smashing Pumpkins

The Smashing Pumpkins, an American alternative rock band from Chicago, is performing in Holmdel, NJ at the PNC Bank Arts Center on August 24 with opening acts Interpol and Rival Sons. They will also be performing on August 30 in Wantagh, NY at the Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater. Limited tickets remain for both shows, so those who are interested should get their tickets soon.

The Cure

The Cure, a popular alternative band from the 1980s, is touring for the first time since 2016 in the United States. They are playing on three different occasions at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on June 20, 21, and 22, and at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on June 24. Most of the shows are already sold out. Twilight Sad will be opening for The Cure.

Aerosmith

The popular American rock band Aerosmith,  formed in the 70s, will start their farewell tour at the end of this summer and will continue through January 2024. The Black Crowes will open on most of their dates. Their first concert on this tour is on September 2 at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. They are  also playing on December 28 at Prudential Center in Newark and at Madison Square Garden on January 19, 2024. Tickets can be purchased on Ticketmaster.

There are so many other great concerts in the area, but don’t wait to buy tickets because shows are selling out quickly.
