Riley McGuire, a 3-year varsity athlete for Manchester Township High School’s Girls Field Hockey team, strives to be a midfielder and upper-class athlete.
Since McGuire’s freshman year [2021], she has been actively involved on the field and on the team. With lots to bring…
“[McGuire] has phenomenal stick work, she’s very fast, goes up and down the field to help her teammates and she says very small encouraging things,” states Nicolette Maloney, coach for girls field hockey at MTHS.
“[McGuire] was a really good friend and teammate, who really helped me during the games,” says Angelia Buono, sophomore on the team who learned a lot from McGuire in the 2022 season during her freshman year.
Originally joining the team to stay in shape for Lacrosse in the spring, McGuire has grown to love the sport. Over the years, McGuire has gained vast experience, from team ice baths to a good night’s rest before each game.
Currently with 3 goals and 2 assists this season Riley McGuire has a promising senior year ahead of her.
“Potential to become either a leading scorer or leading in assists as well as a definite senior leader,” claims Maloney.
