Music is the universal language that unites people together. The genres of music are like groups, which is what helps bring everyone together. When you find someone with the same music taste as you, you may find that you have a lot in common, farther than music. But there’s some people that unite not just with one genre, but multiple.
Music is put into genres, but that doesn’t mean you have to just stick to one. There’s Pop, Rap, Jazz, Hip Hop, and so much more. And even though they are different, some people enjoy all of those genres equally. Music is based on our emotions and how we feel, so the genre can also help depict that. Say, if you feel upset, you may listen to something more melancholy, but if you feel more joyful you might listen to something more upbeat. Learning about new genres of music not only expands our music taste, but helps us connect with people easier. The more genres you listen to, the better chance of finding someone who may like one of those genres.
Pop, Metal, and Classical music are three different genres of music that are all very different from each other, but a person could enjoy all three. It all depends on what style of music you enjoy and how you feel that day. Let’s say for example, that it’s sunny out and you are in a hyper mood. Maybe you will listen to some pop. Say you’re tired or just not feeling it, maybe you will listen to metal to keep you going throughout the day. Maybe you’re studying and need to listen to something calm so you can focus. Classical is a good one for that.
In the end though, you will realize that your music taste is what makes you who you are. People join together at concerts to listen to their top genres, letting you meet everyone who is just like you in some sort of way. Some people are even joined together by completely opposite genres. And who knows, maybe you will find someone who feels the same way about music as you do, even if you’re not the same.
