On Saturday, December 10, the National Honor Society held its first-ever vendor craft fair with over 70 vendors attending and a variety of activities, including a gingerbread contest, face painting, petting zoo, and more. The service winter project was held at the high school from 10 am to 3 pm with over 45 club volunteers coming together throughout the day to assist with set-up, traffic control, and admissions
As a whole, NHS raised over $1500 for Kevin’s Kids and The Village Foster Family Closet through table sales, door prize tickets, and light concessions.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the vendor craft fair was the diverse range of vendors present. From jewelry makers to woodworkers, artists to bakers, there was something for everyone’s taste. Each vendor had their unique style and specialty, ensuring that attendees had a wide variety of options to choose from.
The fair was also a treasure trove of handmade products. Jewelry enthusiasts were treated to a stunning display of intricately designed necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. The craftsmanship and attention to detail were awe-inspiring, making it hard to resist the temptation of purchasing a one-of-a-kind piece.
Food lovers were also in for a treat at the vendor craft fair. The aroma of freshly baked goods filled the air as attendees indulged in delectable treats such as homemade cookies, pastries, and cakes. The fair provided a unique opportunity for local bakers and confectioners to showcase their culinary talents and offer a taste of their delicious creations.
Aside from the wide variety of products available, the vendor craft fair also served as a platform for the community to come together and support local businesses. It was a chance for neighbors and friends to connect and appreciate the talents of their fellow community members. The fair fostered a sense of camaraderie and pride in the local arts and crafts scene.
While far from the first in our district, this was the NHS’s first time organizing and hosting an event of this kind, and we already have interest in another next year.
Special thanks to NHS Club advisor Mrs. Staples and members for making this project happen.
