Senior Devyn Quigley reached a major career milestone by scoring her 2,000 point last night on Thursday, January 11, 2024. Quigley has worked hard to achieve this goal, like working out and training every day.

The rest of the Lady Hawks were super excited for the North Carolina State commit because they all believed she deserved her 2,000th point because of the leadership she brings to the basketball team.

Junior Jade Andrews said, “I think she brings a sense of leadership and a sense of security, just by being herself, obviously, and bringing, obviously the points to the team, but I think most importantly with her taking that leadership role she distributes points to make sure the game is fun for everyone.”

Quigley sure does show she is not only a really good basketball player but also an amazing teammate and friend to all the Lady Hawks.

She has been through a lot to get herself where she is now. Head Coach David Beauchemin has coached her since her freshman year and has seen her change in many ways. Beauchemin explained, “So she came in, you know her freshman year, that team was kinda still right at the very end of being really loaded and she stepped into her starting role and kinda just did her job, you know as to the growth to now to going beyond that and leading outside of all aspects. But also her maturity is really also a strong asset for her.”

Since then, she has worked very hard to secure a starting spot and is now leading the Hawks with points, rebounds, steals, and assists.

Quigley is now tied with all-time leading scorer Destiny Adams and is expected to surpass Adams’ feat tomorrow. There’s no doubt Quigley will continue to break records throughout her senior season and will leave a positive legacy at the Home of the Hawks.
