The Manchester Twp Hawks’ Cross Country team is preparing for their killer 2024 season. The Head Coach, Mr.Griffith, has high goals. His goals in mind are to win their current division, win the Ocean County division, as well as win the Sectional Championship. When interviewed, Griffith claimed, “Those are pretty high goals and I believe they’re pretty realistic. I want to aim, achieve, and have a great season.”
Although the team has only had two meets, they are off to an amazing start. Despite the difficulty in creating records, Griffith hopes to beat their team average in Holmdel Park.
The team consists of multiple players, the team captain being, senior Will Ashton, as well as a new senior transfer, James Torres, juniors Oliver Jones and Daivion Hardy, and sophomores Chase Griffith, Gavin Hanlon, and Joseph Rowe.
Griffith believes that his team this year has exceptional self-motivation and an extremely superb work ethic. He stated, “Always just a pleasure to coach cross country and coach the young men. Real positive traditions that I would like to work with.”
