Hello Hawks! If you don’t already know who I am, my name is Colin McAllister. I am a senior here at Manchester High School. This is my fourth year in the Journalism and Communications program and my second year as Co-Editor-In-Chief of the Talon News website and I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity again. This is a program I will highly recommend to all incoming Hawks and students who haven’t yet taken it. The close, tight knit, friendly environment room 329 offers, can surely be home to all. I have made memories and created bonds that will last a lifetime in this classroom and just hope other students can experience the same. Since last year as editor, I am still an avid Yankees fan and will continue to write about my love for the game of baseball, from college to the pros. Outside of school, my favorite thing to do is hang out with my family. My Dad, brother, and I love to go out golf and like to believe we’re pretty good at it.
Greetings, Hawks! My name is Aiden Clauburg and I am also a senior here at Manchester Township High School. This is my third year in the Communications and Journalism program and my first year as Co-Editor-In-Chief of the Talon News website. I highly recommend joining us in the Journalism program for a variety of reasons. In room 329, we can help you enhance numerous life skills that can help guide you in your future endeavors, including writing, communications, and critical thinking. This program also offers each student equal opportunity to showcase their talents and is a loving environment for all. If you know anything about me you know that I have a profound love for sports and I practically center my life around them. I am the captain of the Boys Soccer Team and I have been playing the sport for the majority of my life. Additionally, I am a die-hard fan of multiple teams including the Green Bay Packers, NY Mets, NY Knicks, NY Rangers, Chelsea FC, and the Seton Hall Men’s Basketball Program. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling around the country and visiting different tourist attractions. This year, I will continue to write primarily about my passion for sports and will strive to benefit the Communications and Journalism program in any way that I can.
Last year, I think our staff could have done more to improve our school’s online website. That is the goal this year. We want to make sure we are more consistent with getting students school news, information, and updates in a timely fashion to make sure every student stays connected! The “StudentNewsSource” app is a way to stay involved and connected at all times of the day. This app will send you real time notifications when something new is published on our schools news site.
