Since losing two seniors last year, this is a rebuilding year for the gymnastics team. They are a small team of only five gymnasts. Despite their small numbers, they set a goal to win at least half the meets they participate in this year. The gymnasts want to gain confidence every meet and to have each member qualify for at least one event for either sectionals or shore conference.

After asking coach Giglio what her favorite part of the season is, she responded, “The best part of the season for me is seeing the progress at each meet/practice of every individual athlete,”. Coach Giglio said, “I only have five girls but they work extremely hard every practice to ensure when they go out for each competition they feel more confident competing in front of the judges.”

Giglio’s motivation as a coach are the gymnasts! She said, “Without them, I wouldn’t be able to coach the sport that brings me so much joy. They motivate me to be the best coach I can be each year and I couldn’t be prouder of my team!”

Giglio is extremely impressed with her three freshmen this year, Gabriella Minneci, Hailey Mitrosky, and Layla Petillon. “I always get a great group of girls each year, but they have really shown dedication, passion, and drive. I couldn’t be prouder of my team as a whole this year and can’t wait to see how this season ends!”, she said.
