On September 21st, 2022 at a BOE meeting it was approved to move Mrs. Rachel Kelly up to the Guidance Department. On Monday, October 23rd, 2022 it went into effect. Kelly first became a teacher back in 2008 at Winslow Township High School, her alma mater. When asked where she got her passion for math, she commented, “My dad was very good at math and made it easy for me. When it clicked for me, I realized I loved math. My high school calculus teacher, Mr. Wentz, also inspired me to be a teacher.”

For Kelly to become a guidance counselor she had to get her Masters in school counseling. To do so, she attended Wilmington University in New Castle, Delaware. Kelly told us that she took the guidance counseling job when she realized she could help students with more than math. Kelly also said that what she likes most about being a guidance counselor is the unpredictability and not living by the bell. Although taking on the role of a counselor isn’t easy, she still plans on doing the things she’s done before such as SGA (Student Government) and a Cross Country Coach.
