As the year’s end draws near, our closing spring sports are in action. Manchester Boys Volleyball is off to an impressive start! Coach Portuese has a clear objective for this season. He wants to put in a lot of effort every day in the hopes of improving on previous years. Portuese is a great coach who is constantly thinking of the younger players and creating something amazing for them. “We want to keep developing a good team program for the younger guys,” he said. This perfectly demonstrates a strong coach’s personality. 

The guys can’t wait to play, potentially go to B-South, and succeed in States. Losing players from last year has only made them all work harder. All of the team’s players are eager to make headlines and win games. For the seniors on the team, they know that this is their final chance to shine on that court, and therefore they will stop at nothing to finish strong. 

With some of the star players on that court they are looking at a pretty good season. Evan Weiner (Senior, Middle Blocker) can hit from anywhere on that court and is ready to dig any hit. Jan Tracz (Junior, Outside Hitter) an extremely powerful outside hitter who is slammin’ that ball down wherever the court is open. Antonio Szczech (Senior, Outside Hitter) taking after his brothers and ready for any ball to come to him. Connor Hughes (Senior, Middle Blocker) is playing middle for his first year but boy is he ready to get up face to face and block. Landon Hinton (Senior, Setter) has become the new setter and is back and better than ever from his injury. Lastly, you have Alex Lopez (Senior, Opposite Hitter) and although he is a new varsity player, he is destroying it at the net. 

Good luck Boys Volleyball!! Go get some wins and finish off your senior year great! Everyone come and support the boys and watch how they dominate the court!!
