As the new semester starts to begin, we get to meet all our new teachers and new classmates. Each new semester is a fresh start for everybody, but this also means another round of finals, as well as those tests and quizzes for those classes.
At the end of every semester, students take finals, as a way to wrap up the course. But we get a sweet treat too; exemptions! If you keep a 93 average for every class, then you may be exempt from it. The tricky part is that you only get two core classes and two electives to choose from if you are a freshman, sophomore, or junior. If you are a senior, then you get to be exempt from all of the classes, as long as you have an A average.
Something that can help you ensure you can be exempt is studying. Having good study habits is a great way to not only keep your grades up but also as a way to help you remember state-issued benchmarks. For juniors, studying will also help with the NJPGA state test and help them score high. Studying can also help you aim for a higher score on the SAT.
It may be hard to gain good study habits if you don’t have them. Or hard to get rid of the bad study habits you may have attained throughout your student career. Here are some good study habits to practice:
A Good Study Place
Having a good study place helps when you study. Whether you are studying or doing homework, having somewhere that is relaxing helps you, and elevates some of that stress from studying.
Taking Breaks
Taking breaks is very important for your overall health. Not only will it help you remember the information better, but it also boosts motivation, and creativity, enhances your moods, enhances your productivity, and improves your image of yourself.
Setting Goals and Timelines
Setting goals for yourself also helps as well. This allows you to stay productive, and motivated, and make sure you hand in your work on time. Fulfilling your goals also gives you a feeling of accomplishment, which is rewarding for some people.
Taking Practice Tests
This will help you know what will be on the tests. This will also help you with effective test-taking skills and help you not panic taking them.
Staying Organized
Keeping things organized will help you in the long run. Things like your notes, worksheets, and previous homework and assignments will help you, but you have to know where you put them.
Effective Notes
Taking effective notes will help you remember things better. Making them look neat and organized will also help as well.
