The Lady Hawk Girls Basketball team is getting the ball rolling on their season. The team has already had an achievement so early in the season. The Lady Hawks got moved to a higher division called A-South.
The girls and coaches seem very excited to begin their season that is hopefully going to end in a state title. When talking to head coach Beauchmin about the beginning of the season,he has a lot of excitement. Coach Beauchmin says “I’m very excited. This is a new chapter in Lady Hawks basketball and I’m ready for us to be able to get on the court and continue what we have done. We are feeling like we have a lot to prove this season.” Coach Beauchmin strongly believes that his experience will be the team’s biggest asset this season. Beauchmin has been the head coach for the varsity level for 15 years. Every moment before this has set him up for this season .
Speaking about experience, we have some talented freshmen coming up this year, who have no experience at the varsity level. Freshman Jesse Sarana has a lot of talent and she is very excited to show it this year on the court. Jesse says “I am very excited for the start of the season. I feel like we have a great team to do some great things.” She believes that even though she is a freshman her hard work will be able to show off her talent. Jesse feels her biggest asset to the team this season is her hard work, the beginning of the season has shown that. For example, Sarana had a big game for the Lady Hawks, ending the game with 20 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals against Marlboro. Not only can this freshman score but she can help her teammates score too.
The Lady Hawks are moving farther on in the season, and the A-south title is inching closer. Every lady on this team works hard no matter what, and they know what they want to achieve, and that is a state title. Wishing the best of luck to our Lady Hawks basketball team as they continue their season.
