Everybody knows about the game Minecraft, and when they announced the movie on June 17, 2017 — eight years prior to the final release date– everybody became excited. As the years passed, people’s faith waned, but then the official trailer was released on September 4, 2025, and would be airing in theaters starting April 4, 2025.

Everybody’s excitement grew as they soon as the cast was. When everybody seen who was playing Steve –the one and only, Jack Black– as well as everybody’s favorite jokester, Jason Momoa. We also see the new up-and-coming actor, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, star as one of the main leads, Henry, as well. The film focused on the trio, and the creativity it took to get them out their comedic shenanigans, as well as the emotional situations that only connected the characters more. While the film focused on the trio more, you could also see Emma Myers and Danielle Brooks, portraying Natalie and Dawn, who also get into their funky situations and their very own emotional roller coaster.

There was many scenes that portrayed the Minecraft experience, such as finding the pink sheep, or creating an amusement park. Many of these scenes were nostalgic for those who have been long time players of the game and helped open their very own portal to their creativity, just like when they were younger.

Amongst the nostalgia, there were many meme worthy moments that took the internet by the storm. Many has been quoting “Chicken Jockey” or “Flint or Steel” in everyday conversation. This only furthers everybody’s belief that any movie that Jack Black stars in, could be meme worthy due to his contagious humor and sense of fun.
