1. San francisco 49ers (5-1)
The San Francisco 49ers are the best team in the league by far. Offensively, the 49ers have Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Brock Purdy. McCaffrey is the best running back in the league with 553 rushing yards, 177 receiving yards, and 8 touchdowns on the year so far. The 49ers offensive line is still one of the best in the league. Defensively, the 49ers have tons of talent with Fred Warner and Nick Bosa being key parts to their success. Overall the 49ers are a well coached and well rounded team overall, recently destroying the Dallas cowboys who have one of the better defenses in the league 42-10. San Francisco struggled on offense against Cleveland after injuries to both McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel early on in the game.
2. Detroit Lions ( 5-1)
The Detroit Lions are one of the best rushing teams in the league with running backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs rushing for over 564 total combined yards through the first 4 weeks. The Lions offensive line is graded the second highest by PFF only second to the Philadelphia Eagles. Offensively the Lions are a sound team with star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown coming back from injury and Jameson Williams coming off of suspension. Defensively, rookie safety Brian Branch has been playing like a defensive rookie of the year candidate and second year player Aidan Hutchinson with 4.5 sacks and 1 interception. Overall the lions are well coached and have young talent all over the field.
3. Kansas City Chiefs (5-1)
The Chiefs are still one of the best teams in the league. The duo of QB Patrick Mahomes and TE Travis Kelce is the best in the league with Kelce having 36 receptions for 346 yards and 3 touchdowns to start the season so far. Mahomes has 1593 passing yards and 11 touchdowns with 5 interceptions on the season so far. The Chiefs defense has been great so far allowing some of the fewest passing yards in the league.
4. Philadelphia Eagles (5-1)
Eagles currently have the highest graded O line by PFF and have one of the most efficient offenses in the league. They have mastered the controversial “ brotherly shove” play, converting on it over 90% of the time. Running back D’andre Swift has been playing like a top 5 running back with 452 rushing yards on 86 attempts and 2 touchdowns. Wide receiver, AJ Brown, is also top 5 at his position with 42 receptions for 672 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. Defensively, this team is well rounded with young talent all over the D line and defensive rookie of the year candidate Jalen Carter is the number one ranked interior Lineman in the league according to PFF.
5. Miami Dolphins (5-1)
Miami is an offensive powerhouse with head coach Mike McDaniel bringing out their full potential. The Dolphins by far have the fastest weapons in the league with the likes of Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Raheem Mostert, De’Von Achane, Braxton Berrios, Jeff Wilson, Chosen Anderson, and more. Tua Tagovailoa has been looking like an MVP candidate so far with 1876 passing yards, 14 tds and 5 interceptions. Miami showcased their talents scoring 70 points against the Denver Broncos. That was the first 70-point effort since 1966. They recently defeated the Carolina Panthers last sunday.
