With the end of the 2022 Major League Baseball season, let’s take a look back at the New York Yankees’ top 3 best moments of the season.

Josh Donaldson Grand Slam Wins the Game

August 17, 2022, Yankee Stadium, a 4-4 game between the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays heading into the 10th Inning. Yankees bring Relief Pitcher Aroldis Chapman to the mound. Francisco Mejia hits a double to right, scoring 3 runs and giving the Rays a 7-4 lead. In the bottom of the 10th, with bases loaded, Josh Donaldson drills the ball 349-feet into right field for a game-winning grand slam.

Anthony Rizzo 3-HR Game

April 26, 2022, Yankee Stadium, Game 1 of a three game series between the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles. In the bottom of the third inning, Anthony Rizzo hits a 346-foot home run to right field with two men on base, giving the Yankees a 3-0 lead. In the bottom of the fifth inning with one man on, Rizzo hits a 378-foot home run to right field making the score 6-0. In the bottom of the 8th, with bases empty, Rizzo hits a home run blast to right field, giving him his first 3 home run game of his career. The Yankees beat the Orioles 12-8.

Aaron Judge’s Record-Breaking Home Run

October 4, 2022, Globe Life Field, Texas, the second game of a double-header with the New York Yankees against the Texas Rangers. With 27-year-old pitcher Jesus Tinoco on the mound for the Rangers and Judge at the plate, the count was 1-1.  Judge hit a slider 391-feet to left field. The Yankees poured out of the dugout in celebration, with both Yankees and Rangers fans on their feet, Judge had just become the American League home run king and broke Roger Maris’ 61-year old record of 61 home runs.
