Why did you become a Teacher?
I became a teacher because it’s truly all I ever wanted to do. I loved the idea of helping others learn and grow. When I was young, I had many teachers that I admired and who made a difference in my life. I wanted to be that person for someone else. I feel proud knowing I can support, guide and encourage my students every day as I share my love for the Spanish language with them.
Something about you that would surprise students?
Prior to becoming a teacher I worked for Carnival Cruise Lines. I had the opportunity to spend a month in Alaska, and it was an unforgettable experience. During that time I was able to see some amazing places and do some amazing things.
Biggest Motivation for becoming your current position at MTHS?
My biggest motivation for working here at MTHS was that I wanted the opportunity to teach full-year classes rather than marking period classes like I did at the middle school. I appreciate having the time to build stronger relationships with my students, watch their growth over the course of a semester/year, and create a more meaningful learning experience.
Favorite Traditions/Superstitions you have at MTHS?
I haven’t been here long enough to be familiar with all the Hawk traditions, but I’m excited to be a part of them in the future.

If you had one wish, you’d wish for:
If I had one wish, it would be for people to be kind to each other
Best MTHS Memory:
Receiving a football player’s jersey during home games for “My Jersey/Your Impact”
Advice for students:
Work hard and challenge yourselves academically. Socially – keep your circle small. Choose friends who love, respect and believe in you, and do the same for others. Don’t forget that we all make mistakes. It’s how you handle those mistakes that ultimately makes a difference.
