For the past several years, the New York Yankees had their star franchise player. Aaron Judge, the current team captain of the franchise, has carried the Bronx Bombers to be the team they are today.
However, time is running out. Having just celebrated his thirty-fourth birthday, Judge is entering the veteran stage of his career. Soon enough, New York will need to find a new cornerstone player. Many believe this new centerpiece is already in pinstripes, wearing number 22.
First baseman Ben Rice has emerged to be one of the most reliable hitters this season. Rice is having a dominant start, batting an admirable .327, the seventh best batting average in the MLB. The 27-year-old has already belted 10 home runs, making him the fourth highest in the league.
Rice has the potential to be the next star franchise player for New York, and has already proven his ability early in the 2025 season.
Ben Rice can be the next big name Yankee.
