The school Sock Drive is accepting socks to donate to the homeless of Ocean County. The Key Club, led by advisor Mrs. Zacchia, is collecting the socks in the Child Study Office at The Bricks. The drive is run year-long, so take your time with your spring cleaning!

The Key Club teamed up with the LBI Kiwanis Club in a team effort to help the homeless of our town have socks. Mrs. Zacchia states “[Key Club] is sponsored by Kiwanis, the goal of both clubs is community service.”

Why are socks of all clothing items needed for the homeless? It turns out socks are an item that tend to be in short supply at donation centers for the homeless. This can be problematic as socks help to warm feet during the cold winter months and provide comfort while walking.

Mrs. Zacchia adds, “Socks are one of the things they’re always short of.

The homeless Ocean County receive these socks, with a wide range of ages that need them. From toddlers to the elderly, ages all across the board need socks.
