On the morning of October 27th, students in Manchester Township Highschool’s (MTHS) Advanced Journalism program boarded a bus to Rutgers for a day of learning from seasoned professional Journalists, with over 30 different lectures to attend across 5 different time tables.
Former employees from such esteemed companies as FOX News and Northjersey.com were present to pass on their knowledge to the next generation of journalists. One particularly intriguing and informative seminar was Professor David A. Love’s Do Not Comply, in which Professor Love went through the early warning signs of a fascist leader, and then segwaying into how said warning signs are present in current administration.
The Co-Editors in Cheif of The Talon are very appreciative for speaker Brian Smith with his “Do you want to build a SNO site?” He showed the editors more detailed way to make the Talon better. From now on, The Talon will use the tips and tricks Smith gave to better the news website.

Students left school at about 7:00 A.M and arrived back around 1:30 P.M. Students were able to get a feel of what it was like to be in a college enviorment. From picking and choosing what lectures they wanted to attend to enjoying a college cafeteria lunch with their friends. The MTHS Advanced Journalism students were very appreciative for this oppertunity.
