The New York Knicks have been an outstanding team this season, making it all the way to the playoffs. The Knicks ended this season with a record of 53-29, placing them third in the Eastern Conference–a historic playoff run.
The Knicks won the NBA Cup this year and Jalen Brunson was named the MVP of the in-season tournament. Moving out of the first round playoffs, they defeated the Atlanta Hawks 4-2. The Knicks then swept the Philadelphia 76ers in the conference semifinals, beating them 4-0. They then beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-0 in the conference finals. The Knicks have now advanced to the Eastern conference finals for the second year in a row.
The Knicks are on fire currently where they have set a franchise record of eleven consecutive playoff wins. The Knicks current starting five consist of Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges. Brunson was named the Eastern conference finals MVP after sweeping the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-0 in the series, making it all the way to the NBA finals.
Mike Brown, the head coach for the Knicks, has created this high caliber team who are dominating the playoffs. This is Brown’s first season as Knick’s head coach, bringing them back to the playoffs. Brown is recognized for how he’s developed the Knicks.
The Knicks put up a historic half in the playoffs, where they tied the all-time playoff record with 25 three-pointers in a single game. The Knicks fanbase is unlike any other team, impacting this historic run greatly.
It’s looking good for the Knicks–synching a third championship is highly plausible.
